Advancement Team
The Student Affairs Advancement Team consists of two full-time staff members, Lisa Wallace and Cathy Tedrick, who work with individuals, corporations, businesses and foundations to fulfill the desires of donors and meet the needs of the university, especially the needs students and the services within the Division of Student Development. They also consult with student organizations, present workshops on various fundraising topics and work with students to help them understand the importance of and embrace the practice of ethical philanthropy now and in their futures.
Lisa Wallace
Lisa joined the UNT Division of Student Development in 2002, as the second development professional to hold the position created in 2001. Her fundraising background includes serving as president of a chamber of commerce in Georgia and director of a United Way in North Carolina. She holds a Masters degree in Education from Georgia Southern University and an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia. She lives for bargain shopping, and also enjoys walking and reading. Lisa may be reached at lisa.wallace@unt.edu.
Cathy Tedrick
Cathy began representing UNT in fundraising and "friend raising" in 2005. She attained her degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Her experience in public relations, grant writing, event planning, annual campaigns and board development for non-profit agencies, along with her extensive community involvement, prepared her for promoting UNT and making connections with potential donors. Cathy has lived in Denton since 1981 and enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and volunteering in Denton. You may contact her at cathy.tedrick@unt.edu.
